I need to convince them not to hunt tonight. I need to know what to do now. My best friend is gone my other friend is about to be pulled off life support and Daniel was almost killed. So was I. If it wasn’t for Elric being here I would have been dead.

So now what? Do I just sit here why my friends are picked off one at a time? Who’s next? I pray my dad is being smart and safe. That’s the last thing I need is to lose him too.

This really sucks. I look at the clock, it is coming up on five-thirty, and unless they remain at the scene, they will be coming home soon. I will text my dad.

<Anything new?>

A few minutes later he texts back.

<Not yet, kid, I'm sorry. However, we did find this black flower near Jamie, not sure, if it’s a calling card or what.>

<When will you guys be coming here?>

<We are wrapping up here, so in about half an hour, John’s on his way now.>

<Ok, I'll see you soon.>

“They found a black flower near Jamie, I'm guessing you know who it is?” He nods and grabs his coat. “John’s on his way here so I guess this is good timing. Please keep me informed.”

“I will, it is Vincent, that’s his calling card, he places them with all his kills based on vengeance. He is the worst of us all, very deadly and cunning; let me take care of capturing him.”

“Ok, get going I think I hear John’s truck.” He gives me a quick hug and runs out the back door. I close it just as I hear a knock on the door.

I answer the door.

“Hey John,” I sat solemnly.

“Hey Cordelia, how are you holding up.”

“Not all that well, just trying to wrap my head around the fact that all my friends are being picked off one at a time, and I can't understand why. What is this all about John? Why are they targeting my friends? Can someone please explain this all to me?”

“I really don’t know what to tell you on that front, but I can tell you we will find who did this and end them, one way or another this will end. I will do my best to make sure this place is safe, from these creatures at least. Now we need to start planning. Is the map still in the kitchen?” I nod and lead the way.

Crap the notes are still there from Elric’s and my plans. I grab them as I say to John, “I think we should hold off hunting for tonight. If we hunt angry we are bound to make a mistake and someone can get hurt or even killed,” I say as I fold the papers and put them in my front pocket while I'm faced away from him.

“That may be true, but we have to do something. I think a group should check out at least one place tonight.”

“That’s another thing, separating seems to bring more exposure to them.
